Originally founded in 1993 by two Texas veterinarians with decades of experience in swine medicine and research, LoneStar Laboratory Swine developed an impressive closed-herd of Yucatan Miniature Swine.  The vision was to meet the demanding needs of the specialized research community.  Over the years, LoneStar has emerged as an industry leader in the breeding, management, care, and supply of laboratory swine for the research industry. 

LoneStar’s Yucatan Miniature Swine are preferred by the preeminent research facilities across the nation, because of the benefits that these swine offer.  Yucatan Miniature Swine are preferred for longer-term studies because of their smaller size, stable growth rates, lower feeding costs, the proportionally smaller housing needs and their docile nature.  These same facilities also appreciate the unparalleled health status that the LoneStar herd delivers.
